I never really considered that there were things that would make cooking easier. I just never thought about it. Plus, growing up I just watched my parents do things normally so I assumed that’s just how things went.

After I got married and had a couple of kids, it was suddenly important to me to save time so that I could spend it with my family instead. On top of that, we needed to save money, and 4 humans were a lot more expensive than 2.

I asked around to some of my other friends with kids to see how they maximized their time and I was surprised at what I found out. Quite a few of them had taken to food prepping to save money and time. I didn’t necessarily understand how that would make things easier, until they explained the magic of a food processor to me.

After discussing with my friends and doing some of my own research, I found KitchenWorksinc, and purchased a Cuisinart Custom 14 food processor. I was so excited to get started. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive.

After taking it for a spin, I was already addicted. I couldn’t believe I never really knew about this before. I had obviously known that food processors existed, but I never gave it any further thought.

I started taking one afternoon a week to prepare meals for that upcoming week. I was amazed at how much faster I could chop veggies and herbs and virtually anything else that needed to be cut up. Gone were the days of doing everything by hand, and thank goodness because those things became very tedious very fast.

Now that I’m used to doing this, I don’t think I could ever go back to the way things were. I save a lot of time that I’m able to spend with my kids rather than preparing a meal everyday. I’m also saving money by not ordering takeout or going out to eat when I randomly forget to take something out for dinner.

On top of everything else, it’s also amazing for when I have to make bigger meals when we have company. I’ve cut my preparation time down by so much, so instead of working my butt off in the kitchen while everyone else gets to visit with one another, I get to spend time with them too. You really can’t put a price on that.

I know things will only become more hectic in the future, so I’m glad I found this hack when I did. I can’t recommend it enough to other parents. I’m so thankful for my Cuisinart food processor and the time it’s given back to me.
